The Sweden Villa is overlooking the sea on the edge of the village Toiny on the same hillside as the prestigious Hotel Toiny. It is built in a spot with a truly breathtaking view. The trade winds which caress the house and its terraces is just as right as it can be, mild and gentle; the direction of the view is just the right, pointing SE -- with the moon rising in front of you in the evening, mirroring into the sea. With the sea just 80 yards away it is easy to relax while listening to the surf and the waves rolling in.

For those familiar with St. Barths, it is easy to be more specific about where this is: The villa is situated on the seaside front of the hillside between Hotel Toiny and the well known villa of the former Russian dancer Nurejev.

Even if there are many nice spots elsewhere in St. Barths, it is safe to say that everything considered, the wind, the sun, the moon, the view, the neighborhood, the easy access --  the location is among the very best and unique.

The Winds

In St. Barths we live with the sun and the wind, both so important to consider when choosing location! This location has taken the best out of the predominantly easterly trade winds sweeping St. Barth: The peninsula to the east (Point Toiny) cuts eventual strong wind -- without removing it completely. Normally is that this location is swept by gentle trade winds all the time. No wonder that Toiny Hotel, the most prestigious on the island, did choose Toiny.

Nice neighborhood

Toiny Village consists of some 25 villas, approximately 50/50 owned by locals and foreigners (mostly americans). The neighboring houses are behind the house, separated by the private parking and a wall to give guests of the villa comfortable privacy. Of the locals, most are of the Ledee family, very nice people indeed. Toiny is a calm part of St. Barths.

and plenty of shops featuring ready-prepared foods and superb wines. Local fisherman sell fresh fish and lobster from trucks and there is a fish market in nearby Lorient as well as two groceries and a good bakery. By the way, a popular eating-out spot Sundays is the Sunday Brunch served in the Toiny Hotel.

Access and parking

Easy access from the main road without any tricky steep slopes or similar. Private parking for up to 3-4 cars directly behind the house. Entrance directly from your parking.

Nearby restaurants, local fish, groceries, bakery.

The nearest good restaurant is in the Toiny Hotel, some 200 yards away along the coast. You are served inside or outside – with the same view as from the house. Moving further on along you will find the Bobos, the Rivage, the Sereno, La Gloriette, the Marigot Bay Club etc. As the island is small, everything is near in St Barths and there are plenty of other excellent French and Creole restaurants

Security

Any location in St.Barthelemy is a safe place. Severe crimes are almost unknown on this island, even the smallest burglaries are scarece and next to non-existent. The fact that this villa is a part of an ‘alive’ village with locals mixed into the normal touristique pattern, brings an extra security with a tight social control all through the year, not only during peak season.
