The Sweden Villa
is overlooking the sea on the edge of the village Toiny on the same hillside
as the prestigious Hotel Toiny. It is built in a spot with a truly
breathtaking view. The trade winds which caress the house and its terraces
is just as right as it can be, mild and gentle; the direction of
the view is just the right, pointing SE -- with the moon rising in front
of you in the evening, mirroring into the sea. With the sea just 80 yards away it is easy to relax while listening to the surf and the waves
rolling in.
For those familiar
with St. Barths, it is easy to be more specific about where this is: The villa
is situated on the seaside front of the hillside between Hotel Toiny and
the well known villa of the former Russian dancer Nurejev.
Even if there are
many nice spots elsewhere in St. Barths, it is safe to say that
everything considered, the wind, the sun, the moon, the view, the neighborhood, the easy access --
the location is among the very best and unique.
The Winds
In St. Barths we
live with the sun and the wind, both so important to consider when
choosing location! This location has taken the best out of the predominantly
easterly trade winds sweeping St. Barth: The peninsula to
the east (Point Toiny) cuts eventual strong wind -- without removing it completely.
Normally is that this location is swept by gentle trade winds
all the time. No wonder that Toiny Hotel, the most
prestigious on the island, did choose Toiny.
Nice neighborhoodToiny Village
consists of some 25 villas, approximately 50/50 owned by locals and
foreigners (mostly americans). The neighboring houses are behind the
house, separated by the private parking and a wall to give guests of the
villa comfortable privacy. Of the locals, most are of the Ledee family, very
nice people indeed. Toiny is a calm part of St. Barths.
